As a laser tattoo removal technician, Kenna knows the importance of proper SMP education and application. About Ana James
Ana James (AJ) is a globally-renowned SMP Artist and widely regarded as one industry’s best artists. Ana was the winner of Team Micro’s 2024 Best Artist International Award, and finalist in multiple 2025 Australian Small Business Awards.
From humble beginnings, AJ started Inkd SMP as a solo artist in 2019, and quickly grew to an international team of 7 in under 5 years. Ana has revolutionised the world’s SMP Training standards by pioneering the hybrid online/in person training methods, simplified pigment ratios, and NAPID DAC hand control methods.

A prerequisite for hands-on training, must be completed prior. Approx. 35+ hours.

What you need to know
As per Australian national standards, accreditation and ASHBBCOS007 is not required for artists entering Cosmetic Tattooing or Scalp Micropigmentation. That being said, your lead Trainer Ana James holds a Cert IV Trainer and Assessor Accreditation. She is one of only a few Artists in Australia who is officially qualified to create and approve Accredited courses. Inkd SMP’s training courses and inclusions go above and beyond ASHBBCOS007 standards. Your Inkd SMP certification is accepted nationwide and internationally for insurance and business registration.
